This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes after a highly competitive selection process, which considered conference statistical leaders, all-conference honorees, and coach recommendations. With the tour limited to just 32 student-athletes, Bailey's inclusion is a testament to her outstanding achievements in the world of softball.
Bailey Word, a rising star in the Bandera ISD softball program, will embark on an 11-day journey in Spain, where she will engage in three exhibition games against some of the world's best softball talents. This unique experience will not only allow Bailey to showcase her skills on an international stage but also provide her with an immersive cultural experience.
The tour itinerary is nothing short of extraordinary, offering Bailey a blend of softball excellence and cultural exploration. Alongside the softball games, Bailey will partake in a guided tour of iconic landmarks such as the Gaudi Houses, Port Olympic and a visit to the renowned Camp Nou Stadium, home to the FC Barcelona professional soccer team which will further enrich Bailey's cultural understanding and appreciation.
